SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Firefighters responded to a one and a half story house fire around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday. The fire occurred at 529 Carbon St., between Herbert and Pond streets. A family of eight people escaped uninjured, but were their home was destroyed. They are receiving support from the American Red Cross of Central New York.
